I deleted some friends today, people who haven't been here for some time. I feel bad, but I hope I havent hurt feelings too much. I can only hope that they are busy leading happy and eventful lives and no longer need or have time to blog.
I feel sad.

This weekend has been a groovy one. Friday night I whizzed round the flat tidying and loads of our friends came over. We all had a good ol chinwag, copious amounts of alcohol and then the boys and girls split up into separate rooms.
We sat around the kitchen table and gossiped whilst the lads watched a Documentary on Metal. I'd seen it before anyway. Anyway, lots of gossip was had, and bitching too after a while.
Saturday morning saw me recovering from an upset stomach (alcohol and junkfood), hubby feeling terrible (just the junk) so we spent a relaxing morning snuggled in bed, reading, snoozing and eating. Then at about 2pm I started fretting. We were expected at a Wedding reception at 7.30 and he was really not feeling any better.
So, I made the decision to go alone. I toyed with hiding away, but it seemed rude to just not show up, and it's not like you can text someone on their wedding day with an excuse! It was soo weird arriving on my own, but I got there just before the newlyweds did their first dance. They looked Sooooo Happy, and the groom had even had a few dancing lessons! Mine refused to do more than a slow shuffle!
Anyway, for the most part I sat alone like a gooseberry, clutching my coke in my hand. I didn't know anyone apart from the Groom and two lads I used to work with but really didn't get on with, and the brides ma kept finding me and introducing me to people (I musta looked real bored! I did try to keep smiling). Needless to say I made an early exit at 9.30pm, BUT I am glad I went.
Today I have been busy, I had a driving lesson at 9am followed by Spinning at 10.30, from which I don't feel wrecked, so I am concerned that I didn't put enough effort in! I was due to do my sit this afternoon, which was postponed and then cancelled as the family went out for the day instead, so I've had a surprisingly relaxing day!
Hoping to watch the second Cocoon film (cunningly titled Cocoon The Return) tonight and maybe bake a cake too. Stomachs grumbling so I'd best get cooking or baking. Have a good week everyone!
hugs

Well this has been a lovely Sunday, tis a shame it went too soon, but I have done a fair bit still. This morning I shunned the gym in favour of a lie in, and then when I did get up hubby was gonna try his new (set of) weights. I told him he'd have to do stretches first and he looked at the photos like I was a loony.
So, we did the stretches together, and then I talked him through some of the exercises - the ones I know how to do, and did him a little programme thing. And now? My arms hurt. That wasn't how it's sposed to be. So, now I'm gonna have to go the gym tomorrow morning, as I'm back on the 'late' shifts and don't start til 9.30am
After that we had a late lunch, and I spent AGES in the garden, I mowed the lawn, planted some bulbs, removed cat poo from the 'flowerbeds' and laszed with my book on a lounger. Then I got trounced at swingball. Hubby is soo much better but he played as a kid and I never did. His hand/eye co-ordination is soo much better than mine. I blame all those computer games. Oh and my short sight!
I went and did my sit in the sunshine, and we rough'n'tumbled in the park, before I struggled to carry her home. She gets heavier and more cumbersome, I'll soon have to find a new way to transport her home, especially if/when I get preggers as she sticks herself out like a stick and then wriggles like mad.
This evening hubby cooked a fine roast, I neglected to bake the cake I had planned and I had a nice long soak (nearly an hour) before reading more of my book with dinner. I haven't read so much in one day for ages. Shame I remember the ending as I've read it before.
We had Naked Gun on with dinner and then I read more and now I am blogging. I am excited coz its only a 4 day (working) week this week and I am looking forwrd to relaxing. Sadly I have to get the train into Brighton on 2 of the 4 days and the BUS into Brighton on the 4th day. Not quite as chilled out as I planned. Ah well, still all good, and before long the next bank holiday weekend, and then soon after? B A R B A D O S here we come!
Hope's y'all have a good week

Last night we went to the Japanese restaurant, it was our friends' birthday and after all the fuss hubby agreed to go. And we both enjoyed it. Hubby had a chilli beef noodle soup which he liked, and I had chicken and rice.
Before that we had cocktails in the bar upstairs which were tasty, i felt really 'mature' sitting sipping a cocktail rather than in the old days racing through a cocktail with a straw. These were £6.25 a pop so not cheap! Luckily the barman said it was happy hour with a bogof on cocktails. Joy!
For dinner we all (except hubby) tried Sushi. An interesting experience I must admit. Not sure I'd go back again for the sushi, but we'll see. The lad to the right of me had also never tried Sushi but was keen to give it a go. With some misdirection from the friendly waitress ("oh, that's not enough food for a man") he ordered 6 plates of sushi, each with 6 rolls on. He made a very manly attempt to eat through his error, but ended up building a sushi wall and then knocking it down. Sadly no camera for pics.
The lad along from him admitted defeat with his chopsticks, but rather than ask for a knife and fork he found his own ingenious dining method. Two chopsticks in each hand he used them like a traditional set of cutlery, until we found a third pair of chopsticks when he was really going for it, eating food from both hands! Again I have no pics ![]()
Hubby's fingers were too fat, but his soup came with a spoon so he was overjoyed, and only one person ended up requesting the old stainless steel cutlery. I found myself to be reasonably adept, after practising on a platter of wasabi peas to quell my hunger, I demolished two of the little dishes by myself!
A good evening was had by all, and we had company on the train home as other friends now live at our station!
Good times.
